Shirley A. Gaines

Shirley Ann Gaines was born Saturday, June 15, 1946 in Evanston, Illinois as Shirley Ann Miles to the union of Rufus Miles and Inola Bailey Miles. She left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Seattle Washington.

Shirley moved to the Great Northwest in the late 1960’s joining her late maternal aunt Hixi and cousin the late Gladys Vaughn stating that she was so amazed by the beautiful evergreen trees, snowcapped mountains and the steep hills; the great city of Seattle has been home ever since.
Following in her cousin Gladys footsteps, Shirley attended Seattle Central Community college graduating In practical license nursing in1985, she then worked her way up and studied to obtain an associate of science degree and Registered Nursing degree in 1988. Shirley enjoyed the medical field working as a R.N. until her retirement in 2002.

Shirley resided in the Seattle Central District on 2211 East Yesler Way. She was active member at Christian Life Fellowship on 23rd ave in Seattle with Pastor George Frost and then years later the Lord led her to a active member of Holly Park Community Church which is now under Pastor Otis Brown in Seattle Washington. Please join us in the homegoing celebration of Shirley Gaines. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Holly Park Community Church 4308 Othello Street Seattle Washington 98118 internment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Renton. Repast will be held at Holly Park Community Church.
