Carole graduated from West Seattle High school and received her BA degree and teaching certificate from the University of Washington. She taught elementary school and spent five years teaching special education (special needs) children. Carole was married for 41 years to her devoted husband James Davis Sr. until he passed away. Together they raised five children while she attended college in the evenings. She enjoyed stage plays, traveling, cooking, gardening, quilting, family gatherings, African art, and shopping on TV. One of the things she enjoyed the most was teaching. It did not matter who, where or what age. Carole knew that knowledge was power, and she always wanted to share her knowledge of power with everyone.
In 1995, the YWCA of Salem, OR named her Outstanding "Woman of the Yea'. Carole was also honored at Oregon's Northwest Black Pioneers Centennial Tribute.
In 2017 Carole, organized a family trip for 10, to Washington DC for the 1-year anniversary of the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture.
