Cathy Myrtle Brown was born on May 04, 1961 to the union of Cuba Jane and Lawrence Brown Sr. Cathy was raised in the Central Area of Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduating from high school Cathy went on to work for the Seattle Public Library where she retired after 20 years of service.
Cathy loved hanging out on Lake Washington while she read novels and or mingled with friends, but her love for traveling took her on frequent road trips to Eastern Washington and throughout the West Coast. She loved listening to music, hanging out with family, and eating good food. However, Cathy's greatest joy was being a grandmother to her two granddaughters and when she seen people, she always provided an update on their recent accomplishments.
Cathy was known by her family and friends as a woman with great strength, despite her small stature. Over the past ten years, her health began to decline and she never complained. She fought the good fight until the afternoon of January 12, 2020, when God called her name and she followed his commands.
Cathy is preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers Julius Newman and Lawrence Brown. Cathy leaves to cherish her memories her one and only son Ondre (Stephanie) Brown, granddaughters Callie and Olivia Brown; sisters Christine and Carol Brown; brothers Raymond Burditt and Albert Newman Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cathy lived life on her own terms and she will be truly missed and never forgotten.
