Danita Savannah Obituary

On February 19, 1959 Ms. Danita Lisa Savannah, known to many as “Niecey” was born to Mr. John Thomas Savannah, Sr. and Mrs. Essie B. (Hill) Savannah in Seattle, Washington.

Danita loved the Lord and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Berean Church of God in Christ.

Danita married Ronald E. Smith, Sr. in 1978. To that union was born two children, Ronald Smith, Jr. and Sheila Danita Smith.

Danita attended the University of Washington where she studied Psychology. She and her companion Jeffrey Morris Fry met in 1985 and to that union JoAnna L’Nora Mae Fry was born.

Danita worked nearly 10 years for the Seattle Public School District. She was an Administrative Assistant at John Muir Elementary School. A school she attended as a little girl. Her children attended John Muir as well. She also enjoyed work in the NonProfit sector. She served as an Accountant at SEED (SouthEast Effective Development) until her retirement. She thoroughly enjoyed working in the community she grew up in as a child.

Sister Joanna Savannah, Father John Thomas Savannah, Sr., Aunt Jessie P. Thomas, Step-Father Walter Hill, Mother Essie B. Hill and Sister Donna Marie Saint preceded her in death.

Danita loved spending time with her grandchildren, Harmony, Farrad, Chris “Cubby”, Jr. and her children, Ron Jr., Sheila and JoAnna. Danita was known for her sharp humor, direct approach, incredible fashion sense, beautiful hair and kind heart. She enjoyed traveling including visiting Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mexico, Arizona, California, Canada, and Washington DC to name a few. She lived in Germany for a few years where she gave birth to Ron Jr. She would often visit family in Louisiana; the birthplace of her parents.

Danita Lisa Savannah goes to commemorate her joyous life, three children, three grandchildren, brothers Edward Savannah, John Thomas Savannah, Jr., and Billie Ray Savannah. And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and life-long friendships.
