De'John Davis Obituary

De’John was born on November 24, 1961 to the union of Johnny R. Davis Sr. and Diana K. Davis.  She was named after her eldest sister and dad.

De’John attended Coleman, Bryant and Wing Luke elementary schools, South Shore Middle School, Project Interchange High School, Renton Vocational Technical College and ANEW Apprenticeship Program.

De'John was a volunteer for the Rainier Beach Sports Program aka Rainier Beach Vikings Jr. Football. She loved working with the children. Oh, how she loved feeding them!  She was one the biggest cheerleader watching the grandchildren nephews, nieces and cousins play football & cheerleading.  She was also a volunteer for the City of Renton Reuse It Program helping the community.

When you think of De'John you think of feisty, fun and full of life; always keeping it, 100%.  She loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, family, and friends.  She loved dancing, drop top automobiles, reading, watching movies, shopping the clearance racks at various stores, Japanese art and culture.  One of her favorite books was Light To Her Shadow: The Ta Kari Lee Christy Story, she so proud of Ta’ Kari winning!   Learning technology was difficult but conquering Facebook, Instagram and You Tube brought her so much joy and mastered them, she did.

On the weekends she loved cooking her butter beans, red beans or pinto beans with ham shanks, greens and cornbread with the entrée of her choice. She loved her son-in laws ox tails, watching the Dog Whisper and Basketball Wives.

De'John was very private about her personal life. Up until that last month of her life she worked two eight-hour jobs caring for others and never once complained about her own illness.
