Ernestine G. Moore was born in Roseland, Louisiana on August 26, 1955 to her parents Clarice and Ernest Moore. She was the 7th of eight children. Ernestine attended Seattle Public Schools and took college courses after completion. She then relocated to Oakland, CA where she received Christ, and married at an early age. From this union was born Iris Murphy-Dawson and David Murphy III.
Ernestine became an ordained minister and taught her children to serve the Lord. Ernestine was a faithful servant up until the time of her passing. She was an excellent cook; and enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She enjoyed nature, adored the sound of rain, and loved studying different species of birds.
Ernestine is survived by her devoted daughter, Iris Murphy-Dawson (Fyance), sisters; Rosie Woods (Raymond) and Carolyn Jenkins, a host of nieces, nephews, family and a very special friend, Leonard Logan. She is preceded in death by her son, David Murphy III; her parents Ernest and Clarice Moore; her siblings, Lillie, John, Ernest Jr., Larry, Betty; and her brother-in-law, Alan Jenkins, Sr.
