Bobbie J. Thomas

Bobbie Jean Thomas was born on June 24, 1938, in Bienville, Louisiana, to her parents, Ivan W. Venzant and Florine Venzant. From her humble beginnings, she built a life centered on faith, family, love, and caring for others.

Bobbie was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Clearance Thomas, until his passing on October 3, 2023. Together, they built a beautiful family and later moved to Seattle, Washington, when Bobbie was 55 years old to begin a new chapter with their children.

Bobbie was the proud and loving mother of Jeannie Thomas, the late Gary Thomas, Janice Floyd, (Son-in-Law) Jethalen Floyd, Shawn Thomas, (Daughter-in-Law) Charlene McKenzie, and her Goddaughter and niece, Carmetria Qualls. Her family was the center of her world, and there was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by those she loved.

Bobbie is also survived by her loving siblings: Betty Thomas, Phillip Venzant, Linda Oliver, Doris Judgeware, Patsy Mingo, Pam Qualls-Burns, Loran Venzant, (Brother-In-Law) Larry Marshall of Florida, and Larry Venzant and his wife, Alma Venzant. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Venzant and Earl Venzant.

She was especially proud of being a grandmother and "GG." Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she cherished each one: Malika Hamblin of Texas, Tony Connor Jr., the late Deandre Venzant, Porsha Thomas, Scotteesha Jones, Dayshawna Thomas, Antonio Thomas Jr., Davatae "Duck" Thomas, Devonte "Tae" Palmer, Gary Thomas Jr., Rtavious Thomas, Ja'Von Thomas, Romell Thomas, and Tachelle Thomas. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Bobbie Jean Thomas was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and proud "GG." She had a kind heart, a warm smile. Bobbie loved talking with people and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. She treated the children in her neighborhood as if they were her own grandchildren, always looking out for them with love and care.

Family meant everything to Bobbie. Whenever there was a family gathering, she made sure everyone had a plate of food and that no one left hungry. Taking care of others came naturally to her, and sharing a meal was one of the many ways she showed her love.

As Bobbie got older, she became known for speaking her mind without a filter. She could say some unexpected and unforgettable things that might catch you off guard—sometimes hurting a few feelings, but just as often leaving everyone laughing. That honesty and sense of humor were simply part of who she was. To know Bobbie was to love her.

Bobbie also enjoyed spending time doing the things that made her happy. She loved playing bingo and visiting the casino with her close friend, Tracy Riggins. She cherished taking walks through the neighborhood she called home for 25 years with her dear friend, Debbie Anderson. Together, they would catch up, keep an eye on the neighborhood, and check in on family and the neighborhood kids along the way.
