Bonitia Hampton-Pannell was born to the union of Robert Hampton and Shirley Mae Hampton on October 4, 1960, in Jonesboro, Louisiana.
Bonitia attended Maple Elementary, Sharples Middle School and graduated from Job Corps where she received her GED.
Bonitia accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beacon Hill First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert Houston. She was very active in church, singing in the choir and being a part of the usher board as a youth and young adult.
On June 17, 1995, she married the love of her life Charles Frank Pannell. They remained together until he transitioned on December 4, 2021. They were inseparable. Together they raised Tamara Hampton-Hoston and Cassandra Hampton and the grandson they adopted Josiah Hampton.
Bonitia enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook for them. Her biggest blessing were her grandchildren whom she loved very much. You could always find her either spending time with them, reading or creating beautiful floral arrangements. In conversations she always left you feeling encouraged and would often give you the word of God when you presented her with a problem.
She transitioned to meet her Husband, Mother and youngest Daughter on January 21, 2025, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Burien Washington.
She was preceded in death by Her Husband Charles Pannell, Her Mother Shirley Mae Hampton and Her youngest Daughter Cassandra Hampton. She leaves to celebrate her memory Her eldest Daughter, Tamara Hampton-Hoston, Her father, Robert Hampton, 2 sisters, Cynthia Houston and Charlene Hampton 4 grandchildren, Princeton Hampton, Josiah Hampton, Naeveah Hampton, Ai’Zayah Hampton. Her Sisters in Love Cheryl Jackson of Ohio, Margret (Pat) Bullock of Ohio and Saundra Dye (James) of Michigan and one Brother in Love Lawrence (Larry) Pannell of Washington. A host of nieces, nephews and Godchildren whom she loved dearly.
