Candyce White Obituary

Candyce Lee White was born to Delores Elizabeth White and Clarence "Leo" White on October 13th, 1948 at Doctor's Hospital in Seattle, Washington. She was called home on December 14th, 2017.

She received her elementary school education in the Seattle area and attended Chief Sealth and Cleveland High Schools.

She was the eldest of nine children, whom she helped raise. She became the Matriarch of the family, protecting and advocating for her younger siblings. She supported them through difficult times and the untimely death of their father when they were children.

In her youth, Candyce had a spark about her, known for her strength, fun spirit, and being the tetherball champ. She loved singing and dancing and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Her favorite thing to do was to attend concerts, even traveling to Canada to see artists perform. Her favorite singer of all time was Tina Turner and she attended many of her shows.

There was nothing she loved more than being a mother and her family. She had a maternal gift and wisdom she shared with everyone she loved. Known by her many nieces and nephews as "Aunty Cando," she established the first 4th of July Family Picnic, always had a story to tell and a can of Dr. Pepper to share. Candyce had a giving heart and always shared what she had with her friends and loved ones, and always welcomed others into her family.

She leaves to celebrate her life and home-going to her husband of 41 years, Robert Cridell; sisters: Charlene Mitchell, Shirley Jimerson, and Melissa Mitchell; brothers: Joel White and Lee "Nick" White; children: Charlene Madden, Michael (LaTonda) Madden, Germaine (Cyrena) Madden, Christopher (Avery) Madden, Shiree (Kristen) Springfield, and Eldon (Tina) Madden; over 20 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

She will be reunited with her father Leo White; mother, Delores White; son, Clayton Gerard White; sisters: Barbara White, Rebecca White, Patricia White, and Pamela Williams; nieces: Felichia Jimerson and Qaaliyah Gipson; nephew, Renell White; and grandson, Eric Newton.

Her greatest gift was her compassion and love for others, and she will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Serenity-Personal Alternative Chapel 749 Central Ave. N Kent, WA 98032 and continue from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am Thursday, December 21, 2017 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship 19300 108th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98055. Interment will be at 11am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, Washington.
