Carolyn Garner-Patton was loving and caring, with a heart full of gold. Our beloved wife and mother will forever be in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed. She had a strong but soft heart for her husband, children, family, and friends.
Carolyn was born on December 3, 1946, to the late Emerson and Mary Louise Frank in Wills Point, Texas. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1964 in San Francisco, CA. Carolyn would soon receive her most significant life gift, being the proud mother of five amazing and loving children.
Carolyn has devoted her life to the church for the past 50+ years and has been a Holy Ground Community Church member since 2003. She enjoyed spending time in the church, praying for others, and helping various communities. Evangelist Patton's devotion to the church includes serving as pastor leader, women in ministry President, pastor aide, usher board supervisor, pastor’s sermonize soloist, pastor and first lady anniversary coordinator, lunch coordinator, and divine decorator; Carolyn was also referred to as a woman of great faith.
Carolyn also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was passionate about shopping, sewing, cooking, and listening to gospel songs. One of Nikki’s fondest memories of Auntie Carolyn was her comfort in watching her nieces and kids play church in the basement as a child.
She was an avid collector of elephants. Carolyn was a sharp dresser and had a passion for fancy church hats and suits, which she had a plethora of. Purple was her favorite color, as was Psalms 91. Carolyn gained wings on November 30, 2024, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington.
She leaves to cherish her loving husband, Larron Patton, of 17 years; five children, Nia Garner, Charles Garner, Christy Garner (Kenneth), Rosha’e Garner, and Daniel Garner, all of Seattle, WA; sister Margaret Pierce
of Dallas, TX, and the late Julia Banks, Joyce Frank, and Ermon Frank; stepdaughters Shikera Patton and Jasmyn Patton, brother in law Curtis Patton (Debbie), brother in law Vernon Brown, sister in law Patricia Patton and best friend of 60 years Georgette Lewis-Roy, and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
