Carolyn Sue Vaughn born Carolyn Sue Martin was born December 10, 1948, in Seattle Washington to Ernest and Marguerite Martin (who has preceded her) Carolyn the youngest out of 3 children and the only daughter, Grew to become a strong mother of her own 3 children, while being a young mother Carlyon graduated from collage in 1967 getting her Associates degree in social work as she met her husband Johnny Vaughn she also went to beauty collage and graduated in 1982 becoming her own business owner as well.
Carolyn loved her family and the foundation she created for them was strong, she loved to dance, sing, cook and create memories with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, during the holidays was her favorite time of the year, Carolyn loved the lord and would often use quotes from the Bible to encourage, inspire, and/or protect her family and friends. Carolyn retired in 2010 from working with the state after 40 plus years of service.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters Mechele Vaughn, Selena Vaughn, Sharron Smith, Twanya Vaughn McGruder, and Renee Vaughn and was proceeded in death by her daughter Sheila Vaughn -Walker husband Johnny R Vaughn and stepson Robin Vaughn her grandchildren Kaylah, Marquita, Deja, Shane, Jontell, Jovaughn, Justin, Kadijah and Kinyatta. Followed by a slew of 14 great grandchildren who she loved dearly and always was aware of how blessed she was watching them grow.
The lord called Carolyn home on December 25, 2021, at Virginia Mason Hospital, Carolyn was a member of Southside Church of Christ and will be deeply missed by all her family members and friends, may she rest in peace until we see her on the other side.
