Charles Thomas Webster, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 8, 2025. Born on August 21, 1959, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Phyllis and Charles Webster, he was raised in Seattle, Washington. A gifted athlete from an early age, Charles earned State Championships in the 100-yard and 100-meter dashes, breaking records and representing Spokane Falls Community College at the collegiate level. He competed in prestigious events, including the Los Angeles Times Invitational and the Steve Prefontaine Invitational, and qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team, a journey interrupted by the U.S. boycott.
Charles was a cherished father to three children: Charles Webster, Chanté Webster, and Markel Webster. From 1999 until his passing, he was a beloved presence at the Washington Athletic Club, where his warm smile, gentlemanly presence, and signature phrase “Ladies first” welcomed all who entered.
He will be reunited with his father, Charles Webster; his brothers, Danny and Brian Webster and his grandparents and a host of Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who have passed.
Charles is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Webster; his sisters, Kathleen and Dana Webster; his brothers, Ricky and Donnie Webster his children; and a host of living nieces, nephews, and cousin's.
Charles Thomas Webster will be remembered for his athletic brilliance, his humor, his warmth, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
