DeShawn Williams Obituary

With the heaviest of hearts, the family of DeShawn Williams announces his passing on April 12, 2020. Shawn will be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter, his kindness and generosity,, his easy-going personality, his pleasantly surprising unpredictability, his courage to walk with an open heart and his passion for the game of basketball. DeShawn’s love for sports started early as a tee-baller advancing to Little League, and he also played community center, middle school, and high school basketball. He carried his lessons of camaraderie throughout his life.

A native of Seattle, DeShawn was born August 5, 1993 to Hillary Johnson and DeMarr Williams. He attended T.T. Minor Elementary, Madrona Middle School and was a graduate of Franklin High School. DeShawn was an employee of Delta Air Lines.

DeShawn leaves to cherish his precious memory: his loving parents Hillary Johnson and DeMarr Williams, siblings Evan Williams, Gabriel Williams, Anaya Williams, Grandmother Stephanie Johnson-Toliver, Grandfather Calvin Williams Jr., Great Grandmother Blanche Oberti, Uncles Eugene and Max Toliver, Eric and Calvin Williams, Aunt Arvella Jones-Beasley, Candace Bailey, Great Aunt and Uncle Denise and Bobby Brown, Great Uncle Reggie Crigler, Cousins Juanita Williams, Calvin Williams, Tracy, Terrell, Tyana and Tyson Brown, Cecelia (CC) Jones, Brandi and Raina Smith, John and Jontell Beasley, Shawnda, Trisha, Erica and Eric Williams and a host of additional loving family and close friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Patricia Jones, Aunt Bonita Crigler and Cousin Rolondo (Dinky) Coleman.

The family wishes to convey its sincere appreciation for the many prayers and heartfelt support during DeShawn’s passing. There is comfort in knowing so many were touched by DeShawn and wanting to wrap their arms around his family.

ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS, MAY DeShawn’s SOUL REST IN HEAVEN.

Remember Me

Speak of me as you have always done.

Remember the good times, laughter, and fun.

Share the happy memories we've made.

Do not let them wither or fade.

I'll be with you in the summer's sun

And when the winter's chill has come.

I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze.

I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease.

I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep,

But memories we've shared are yours to keep.

Sometimes our final days may be a test,

But remember me when I was at my best.

Although things may not be the same,

Don't be afraid to use my name.

Let your sorrow last for just a while.

Comfort each other and try to smile.

I've lived a life filled with joy and fun.

Live on now, make me proud of what you'll become.
