Deacon Anderson Jones, Sr.

Deacon Anderson Jones, Sr. passed away in Seattle WA on November 18, 2024 at the age of 88 with his wife Nicquelle P. Jones by his side.  Deacon Anderson Jones Sr. was born on July 1, 1936 to Elizbeth Hensley and Percy Jones in Clayton, Louisiana.  He attended Concordia Parish School in Vidalia, Louisiana in 1945 and later went in the Army June 28, 1954 from Grand Coulee County Washington and was honorable discharged June 27, 1957. He later traveled to and was stationed in Missouri where he met Sallie Shanklin the mother of his first child Beverly Jean Jones. Several years later he met and married Kathleen L. Stein in 1970 and Anderson, Jr. and Kevin Michael were born. In 2012 he met Nicquelle P. Bailey-Jones and married her in 2014.

Deacon Anderson Jones, Sr. leaves a legacy of being a hardworking man, a jack of all trades; professionally he was a general contractor and an operating engineer for Local 302. He loved fashion, sewing, gardening, taking pictures, fitness and music. He was also an active member of the Cherry Hall Fellowship Men’s meeting. Deacon Anderson Jones Sr. believed in God and was an active member at Tolliver Temple Memorial Church of God in Christ.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Drew Jones. He leaves to mourn his wife Nicquelle P. Jones, three children: Beverly Jean Jones, Anderson Jones, Jr. and Kevin M. Jones. His grandchildren; DeShawn S. Jones, Talia and Hana. His greatgrandchildren Andre Jacobs, DeShawn Jones II, Demun Jones, Kyla Jones and Kaylee Jones.  He also leaves to mourn his brothers Lewis Crawford and Andrew Williams, his sisters Gloria Gibson and Flora Black along with his nieces and nephews and host of family and friends.
