Deacon Cleveland A. Dillon transitioned from this life to the next November 22, 2025 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. On November 25, 1944, God blessed Charley Mack and Evelyn Dillon with their first son, Cleveland Arther Dillon, affectionately known as Cleve. Born in Tylertown, Mississippi, Cleve later moved with his family to Hammond, Louisiana, where he grew up and attended Greenwood Park High School. At an early age, Cleve accepted Christ and united with China Grove AME Church. In 1967, he relocated to Seattle, Washington, where he worked various jobs throughout his life. On March 18, 1980, Cleve met the love of his life, Gloria Jean Withers. they married on November 20, 1982, and built a beautiful life together, raising their three children: Jessie, Jesria, and Janielle. This past November, they celebrated 43 wonderful years of marriage. Cleve united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in January 1982 and was baptized under the leadership of the late Reverend C.E. Williams. He served faithfully in several ministries under Reverend Robert L. Jeffrey, Sr. Cleveland was soft-spoken, humble, and deeply devoted to the Lord. He lived by the belief that “if he could help someone as he traveled along the way, then his living would not be in vain.”He leaves to cherish his precious memory: His beloved wife, whom he lovingly called “Glory Jean”; devoted children, Jessie Turmon (Keysha), Janielle Turmon (Renton, Washington,) and Jesria Turmon (Atlanta, Georgia); siblings, Maxine Holmes (Rockford, Illinois), Betty Jean Dillon Dangerfeld (Ernie) (Las Vegas, Nevada), Mary Anderson (Seattle, Washington), and John Dillon (Seattle, Washington); brother-in-law, Lindell Withers (Reno, Nevada) and sister-in-law, Estine Ervin (Seattle, Washington); future son-in-law, Trabarius Brownlee (Seattle, Washington); nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and stepdaughter Jimmie Corbin; and a host of other relatives, friends, and his loving New Hope Missionary Baptist Church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Mack and Evelyne Holmes Dillon; sisters, Charlene Dillon, Bernice Berry, and Jerline Dillon; brother, Ray Dillon; brother-in-law, Reginald Withers; and grandson, Tony Moore.
