Dorothy Neal Obituary

Dorothy (aka Dot) Jene Neal was born on September 1, 1956. Om Seattle, WA.  She was one of five children born to Velma Bolden.  Dot was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a dear friend to many.  Dot was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2023

 

Dot accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at the New Hope Baptist Church, Seattle, WA under the leadership of the late Dr. C E Williams.

 

Dot was undeniably a beautiful and fun-loving person, you simply wanted to be around her.  She was compassionate and demonstrated empathy for others.  Dot enjoyed getting her hair and nails done.  She was funny and had an uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel special.

 

Dot grew up in the Seattle area (The CD) and attended Horace Mann and Greenwood Elementary, Washington Middle School and graduated from Garfield High School.  She always expressed her joy for life with laughter and had a smile that would light up a room.  She had a great passion for God and was an active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist church.

 

Her hobbies and interests included having family dinners, reading the bible, crossword puzzles, spending time with her cat (Piper), taking her grandson on bus rides, creative writing and listening to Tupac.

 

Dot was proceeded in death by her Mother Velma Bolden and her sister, Letha Neal-Grey, She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughter’s LaTaunya Smith and Danet Neal.  Three Siblings: Doretha Ford, Charles Neal and Evelyn Neal.  Five grandchildren: Michael Williams, Deandre Scott, LaTaunya Williams, Deantre Scott and Deyan Garner, her cat Piper and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
