Obituary for Everett D. Pounds
Everett D. Pounds, age 47, of Federal Way, Washington, passed away on October 09, 2025. He was born on April 11, 1978, and was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Everett was a true family man who found his greatest joy in spending time with loved ones. Everett loved barbecuing with his family—at the lake, at the park, or right in his own backyard. He loved visiting his siblings’ homes, hanging out with his nieces and nephews, and filling the air with laughter, love, and music. His home was always alive with the sounds of family—music blasting from the porch, the smell of a good BBQ, and the warmth of togetherness that Everett created wherever he went.
He was a proud father to two daughters, Alexandria Helen Pounds and Aaliyah Angel Helen Pounds, who were the light of his life. Everett is also survived by his mother Kennalee Merculieff, father Jerome Jackson, and his siblings Kaughtia Pounds, Kikkidee Pounds, Shanekia Jackson, Shantasia Jackson, Shawindae Jackson, Jerome Jackson, Nephews, Nieces and many cousins.
Everett will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and deep love for family. He always had something to say, and his conversations were filled with laughter, honesty, and care. He loved his family barbecues—especially when he was the one manning the grill, cooking only meat on his beloved barbecue.
A devoted Seattle Seahawks fan, Everett never missed a game, whether watching from home or cheering with friends at a bar. In recent years, he faced health challenges with courage and humor, often seen riding around on his scooter with his trademark grin—always bringing smiles to those around him.
A Reflection from His Mother, Kennalee Merculieff
“Everett was a kind, caring, generous, and loving person who always talked about family. He had a big heart and always had something to say. He loved our barbecues and made sure to be the one behind the grill—though he would only cook meat on it! He was always happiest when surrounded by those he loved, whether at home, at the lake, or at the park. Everett faced his challenges with strength and humor, even after choosing not to take medication for his MS. Watching him zoom around on his scooter always made us laugh. Everett loved Seahawks games no matter where he watched them—from home or at the bar. My son will be truly missed, but I will always remember his laughter, his love for family, and his beautiful spirit.”
A Reflection from His Father, Jerome Jackson
“It was a joy and privilege to become a part of Everett’s life when he was just two years old. My first memory of him was his long, sandy-golden hair—always smiling. As he grew, I watched him become a respectful, intelligent, and loving young man. Everett was a loyal brother, a caring son, and a friend to all. I made sure he knew he could achieve anything he set his mind to, and I take comfort in knowing he carried those lessons with him. My wish now is simply this: that his journey ahead is one of peace, and that he always knew how profoundly loved he was by me, by his entire family, and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. No regrets.”
