Frances Earline Staten was born on September 17, 1955 to the union of the late Lester Staten and Charlestine Green Staten, in Rayville, Louisiana. She accepted Christ at the early age of six. At Macedonia Baptist Church in Rayville Louisiana under the leadership of the late JD. Mansfield.
Frances grew up in Seattle Washington, with her mother, stepfather and her two siblings. Frances always had a caring and free will to live life to the fullest. She spent most of her childhood days adventuring out into the neighborhood, meeting new people and making lots of friends. She was known for her beautiful smile and sense of humor. As a youth, Frances was actively involved at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, in Seattle Washington under the leadership of the late Pastor Ben Rhodes. She was a member of Sunday school, the youth choir and any other activity that allowed her to be the social butterfly she was. This strong foundation of Christian fundamentals is the reason she lived sucha a joyful and vivacious life.
Frances was a devoted mother of two wonderful children Jerome and Latosha Steele. "My fondest memories were of her always going on the school field trips with my class. She paid for all the children on rides at the Puyallup Fair. We were truly best friends." - Latosha Steele
She loved taking vacations. Especially to Rayville to visit with family, friends and catch up on some good ole' soul food and music. Whenever she entered a room, she created memories for all who were present. Frances was the most caring person you could have ever met. She would never hesitate to put others before herself. Thes made working as a CNA for more than twenty years more than just a job. It was an opportunity for her to provide care to others in the same way she would have wanted it for herself.
In fact, when he older brother Courtney, was in need of kidney transplant she gave her own. At the age of seventeen years old, she was the first donor University of Washington performed a kidney transplant on.

In Loving Memory Frances Staten Hawkins
In the rising of the sun and it's going down we still remember you. In the blowing of the wind and the chill of the water, we still remember you. In the opening of buds and the rebirth of spring, we still remember you. In the blueness of the sky and the warmth of summer, we still remember you. In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we still remember you. When we are weary and in need of strength, we remember too. When we are lost and sick at heart, we still remember you. When we have joy, we yearn to share, we still remember you. So lonf as we live, you too shall live, for you are now a part of us, as we still remember you.
