Frank Merida, Sr. Obituary

Frank James Merida, Sr. was born on August 2, 1948, in Chriesman, Texas to the late Nathaniel Merida and Lovie Joe Merida. He was the sixth of nine children. Fank departed from his earthly home on June 12,2026 at the age of 77 at the, Virginia Mason in Seattle Washington.

Frank confessed his life to God at an early age at Seven-Star Missionary Baptist Church in Caldwell, Texas.  He attended school at Freeman High School and graduated in 1966. After graduation Frank joined the military {Army}became active duty during that time he became a Sargent.   After 4yrs of serving his country, he re-enlisted into the Army Reserves until he retired 20 years enlisted. He was stationed at the FT. Brad in North Carolina. One thing for sure he loved is the country and always represented by wearing his T-shirts.

Frank married is beloved and beautiful wife in Holy Matrimony on April 15, 2009.

Frank loved his family and family gatherings, whether in Texas or Colorado. He loved to fish, play dominoes, and most of all playing his guitar, whether it was for fun, or playing for the church and a quartet.  Frank played with The Singing Galatians, and the Electrified Mighty Warriors, etc.,

Frank’s favorite sport was football, and he loved the Seattle Seahawks. He would always call Texas and brag about them to his brother L.C. and other family members. Not a birthday would go by, and you would not hear from him wishing you a Happy Birthday.

Frank had a quiet spirit, but he loved the Lord. He had many wonderful aspects of his life, and in many ways, he touched them all and was loved by so many people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Nathaniel and Lovie Merida, three brothers Nathaniel Merida Jr, James Merida, and Edward Merida.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Roberta Merida, a daughter Teresa Merida of North Carolina, a son Frank Merida Jr of Washington, three stepsons Leslie Higgins, of Whidbey Island, Victor Higgins, Billy Odem of Ohio, four sisters Janie {Danny}Jones of Caldwell, Texas, Helen Jackskon, Gloria Merida, Myrtle Smith all of Denver Colorado, one brother Lucious Merida, and a very special niece Zanetta Burns Caldwell, Texas. He also leaves to cherish 3 grandchildren Omari Merida, Honestly Merida, and Jada Smith, 2 great grandchildren Jahmire, Jahryah all of North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
