Obituary

Joseph was born on April 29, 1982, to Elizabeth A. Friendship and William C. Camper.  Joseph is the only child born to this union.  He was preceded in death by his Mother Elizabeth Friendship, and Great Aunt Elizabeth J. Green (who helped to raise him).  Joseph is survived by his Partner of 20 years Aaron Stephenson, his Father William C. Camper, Uncles Turner (Dean) Friendship, Stanley & Aunt Carolyn Friendship and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.

Joseph was baptized at an early age, by Pastor Edgar Bratton, of the Peoples Institutional Baptist Church.  He was active in church during his youth, participating in the PIBC laymen’s and he was a Youth Usher.

Joseph grew up in Seattle, WA, attending Elementary and Middle school in Seattle, WA and graduating from Hazen, High School in Renton, WA.  While in middle School Joseph was selected to participate in the “Biosphere” camp, geared to cultivate a love for Science in young African Americans.  He received a certificate of Meritorious completion of Biosphere of Tomorrow Science Camp for his then created carnivorous plants project referred to as Venus Fly Trap. Shortly after graduating from High School Joseph joined and completed the US Job Corps Training in Columbia Basin. 

Joseph was truly a fun loving Family man; he loved talking about his partner Aaron, cousins and other family members. He took tremendous pride in his knowledge of plants and gardening, could have been a Botanist.  He was always fascinated by Airplanes and Flying.  He would spend hours flying around the world on his flight simulator.  He also loved flowers and Plants and could quickly tell you how to repair a sick house plants or garden plants. 

Joseph loved partying, having fun and being around people.  He enjoyed traveling and the adventure of going to different places. He and Aaron worked on fishing boats in Alaska and Seattle.  Joseph also worked at SeaTac Airport for a short time.

Joseph leaves to mourn a host of Cousins, Friends and other relatives.
