Juanita Jimerson Obituary

~ The Life of Juanita Faye Rolax-Jimerson ~

The legendary Seattle icon, Juanita Faye Rolax-Jimerson was born to the union of the late Mr. & Mrs. Willie Rolax Sr. on July 15, 1952 in Seattle, Washington. She was second to the last out of the eight children born to this union.

Juanita accepted Christ at a very early age; became a member of the House of Refuge Church of God Pentecostal, under the leadership of the late Bishop R.J. Causey. Singing spiritual melodies and religious hymns along with her siblings and family became one of her favorite things to do.

Juanita attended Seattle Public Schools and graduated from Garfield High in 1970. She later furthered her education receiving a business degree at Knapps Technical College.

Juanita married the late Willard Carl Jimerson Sr. on September 8th, 1979. Under this union 4 beautiful children were born.

Juanita was a hard worker, whether being independently or as a team player. She worked various jobs throughout the entire Seattle metropolitan area. Including, but not limited to, working for the Seattle Medium Newspaper; a receptionist and customer service at Fannie's Beauty Boutique. Working side by side with her father-in-law in the family owned business at Accuracy Landscape, LLC. She also gained a great reputation with the many children from the daycare centers she worked at. Juanita loved her some children, and not just her own, but all children. She loved to teach children about life lessons, the greatness of God and the reading of Psalms 23. Juanita's nurturing, loving spirit attracted all whom knew her to adopt her as a sister or mother but most affectionately as "Auntie Nita".

To know Juanita is to have been blessed to witness the true definition of fearlessness matched with a quick-witted-sharp tongue and a wonderful sense of humor. She was very independent and encompassed the profound spirit of a natural born leader. She believed in never giving up or giving in; a moral she instilled in all who came to know her. She stated what was on her mind just how she wanted, and that's what we loved about her: "NO FILTER". A true definition of keeping it real!

Juanita will be remembered most for her energetic, outgoing "Live Wire" personality. Well known as the life of the party. She loved to dance and sing and enjoy life. Most of all she loved her family and all of those she was deeply connected to.

Juanita Faye Rolax-Jimerson will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Juanita was preceded in death by her father: Willie Rolax Sr.; Mother Fannie Mae Rolax, two brothers: Willie Rolax Jr. and Steven Rolax; two sisters: Joycelein y. Coleman and Stephanie A. Bennett (Toni) and daughter: Jamilia Jimerson.

To carry on her legacy she leaves 3 sons, Curtis L. Coleman, Willard C. Jimerson Jr. and Deshawn Jimerson; 1 brother, Ronald L. Rolax; 2 sisters, Kathryn Thomas and Debra Rolax; 1 special god-son, Robert Woods; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. And a special loving, caring niece that she looked at as a daughter, known to Juanita as Lil' Nita: Sodondre K. Rolax.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30pm Thurs. May 21 and continue from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am all at Unity Church of God In Christ 8302 Renton Ave. S Seattle, WA 98118. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle, WA.
