Marquis Demetrius Ransom was born on September 2, 1990, in the early evening at Group Health hospital in Seattle, WA. A beautiful, brown-skinned bundle of joy with eyes as big and clear as marbles wasted no time in the delivery room to show his backside. He eagerly attended First A.M.E. preschool and was promoted to attend kindergarten through eighth grade at Madrona, which led him to enrollment at Garfield High School. He was truly a product of the CD…206 born and raised!!! Due to his love of food, his stocky body structure, and God-given strength; he was known as “Meathead” by his family. As an older brother to his sister Amber, he was a protector. You would seldom see one without the other. Even into their adult lives, the two of them were thick as thieves (no pun intended).
Although he was not formally trained, he invested in himself and developed artistic skills in hair and makeup. He could whip your crown and glamourize your face better than some who claim to be professionally trained. His colorful spirit was reflected in his hair, make-up, clothing, and personality. He was very smart, full of great ideals, and planned to execute them. His dream was to become a professional hair stylist and start a hair weave sales business with his older sister DaVonya.
There wasn’t a day that went by that he wasn’t willing to listen to a friend or family member who just needed to be heard. He was loved by everyone who knew him and would kindly share his advice with anyone who had an ear to hear. He kept it real, no matter if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. He had a huge heart filled with love and a generous hand for anyone in need. With much energy and finesse, he loved to dance and sing…I believe in my heart that he danced right into the heavenly realm, singing with joy with that million-dollar smile plastered on his face!!!
On the evening of December 13, 2022, his beautiful spirit took over, left his earthly body, and freely soared to greater heights. Preceded in death by his elder brother Maurico Deon Hunter. He leaves behind to mourn: Parents – Bryan Keith Austin and Beverly Kaye Ransom; siblings: Lateasta Denise Hill, DaVonya Lamelle Jackson, Brian Keith Ransom, Amber Lashae Ransom, and Christopher James-Depriest Ransom; Malaki Austin, Kartier Austin, Pryncess Austin, Layton Austin, Bryson Austin, and Tatum Austin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7
