Melvin Charles Evans was born June 22, 1951, to Melvin H. Evans and Azzie L. Evans of Seattle, Washington. Melvin grew up in the Central District of Seattle and graduated from Garfield High School in 1969. Melvin fondly known to family as Butch, or Mel spend over 30 years employed at US West/CenturyLink as a lineman. He was highly skilled and often called to manage emergencies throughout the United States. Melvin was an avid bowler and opened in various tournaments around the country. He retired in 2005, and later that year married Patricia Parker. In 2008 Melvin suffered a stroke, his wife along with her nephew Blandon Parker began caring for him until his passing.
Prior to gaining his heavenly wings on June 13, Melvin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Melvin, and sisters Virginia, Debra, and Beverly. Melvin is survived by his loving wife Patricia Parker, sisters Charlene and Dolores, and a host of family and friends.
