Michael Berry was born in Chicago, Illinois to Herman and Carrie Berry. He was the youngest out of four children. The family moved to Seattle in February of 1968. Michael was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son in law, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. He touched the lives of many with his smile, conversation and personality. He was definitely a people person and there wasn’t anyone he met that didn’t like him. He attended Leschi Elementary, Meany Junior High & graduated in 1977 from Garfield High School. He worked at Todd, Lockheed and Bremerton Shipyards for many years as a pipe fitter. Then he went on to work for The Boeing Company as a mechanic. Michael loved watching sports and was a huge Seattle Seahawks fan. He also loved to eat and was great on the grill barbecuing his famous ribs & making his secret BBQ sauce. Michael was preceded in death by his father Herman Berry. He is survived by his Mother Carrie Berry, loving wife and lifelong partner of 47 years Laverne Lewis-Berry, Mother-In-Law Jimmie L. Lewis, daughter LaQia S. Berry, son, Michael M. Berry, granddaughter Promise Brown, grandson Amar’e Berry, brothers Howard Berry, Gregory Berry (Yolonda), sister Barbara Thornton (Hollis), sister in laws Annette Lewis-Wells (Emmanuel Ray), Ruby Lewis-Becton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who are too many to name. Michael fought a good fight and praise be to God that his suffering is now over. He will forever be in our hearts.
