Michael B. Evans

Michael Bernard Evans, beloved son, brother, father, and friend passed away on July 30, 2021 at St. Anne Hospital in Burien, WA at the age of 56.

Michael was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on January 25, 1965, to Barbara Ann Evans and Eugene W. Goggins.  He grew up in Poughquag, NY and attended Arlington High School in LaGrangeville, NY where he enjoyed being a wrestler. 

Michael moved with his family to the Seattle area in 1976. He enlisted in the US Navy Reserves Sea and Air Mariner program in 1989 and then served as a Deck Seaman until 1991. In later years he enjoyed sports, art and photography, and collecting knives and blades. He was also a talented cook.

Michael will be remembered as a sweet, loving, generous man who was often surrounded by family and friends. He befriended and was befriended by many.  His sudden death was a shock to his family and friends, but he had previously chosen to be an organ donor, another example of his generosity.  Through his final compassionate donation, he was able to offer the gift of life to another.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Eugene Goggins.  He is survived by his mother Barbara Ann Evans, sister Michele Henry, sisters Bonnie (David) Hart and Valerie Goggins, adopted sisters Kayla Marie and Kerri Ann Brinson, son Michael Evans II and daughter Mikeshia Rose Evans, nephews Michael and Donte Henry, niece Shaquaya Henry, and 3 other nephews and one niece many cousins, a large extended family and God family, and dear friends.
