Millington Daniel Obituary

Millington “ Buddy” Daniel was born to Lester and Cathern Daniel Sr in Oklahoma City, OK on the way from Arkansas to Seattle, Washington.  He attended Seattle Public elementary schools and graduated from Garfield HS in 1961.  Immediately upon graduation he joined the US Marine Corps.  He served in the Vietnam era.  Upon leaving the Marine Corps, he met and married Wilhelmina Wright in Boston, MA.  To that union, Damon, Michael and Kanika were added.  He went back to Seattle to start a job with Boeings and Wilhelmina followed. He later went to work for Wonder Bread as a driver salesman at the time of the Boeing layoff.  While working for Wonder Bread and delivering at King County Juvenile Detention, and old friend told him about a job opening at the facility.  He applied and got the job and also enrolled at Seattle Community College and then Seattle University receiving a  BA in Human Services.  He decided to also rejoin the military with the US Army Reserves where he was a Mental Health Therapist.  While at Juvenile Detention, he became a King County Correction Officer.

He retired in 1997 with 25 years at King County Juvenile and 20 years 4 mos. with the US Military.

 He enjoyed quiet times at home, family gatherings, Bible study group, cooking and trips to Ocean Shores.  The family loved his sweet potato pie, dressing and bread pudding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lester Jr, John, Charles and Billy.

He leaves to mourn his children Damon (Venishia), Michael (Danna) and Kanika, sisters Barbara Houston, and Beverly (Greg) Thornsburg, grandchildren Judith, Jareod, Damona, Satori, Rodney, Johnathan, . Nieces and nephews Angela, Brandy, Dillion, Melisa, Donella, Cassandra, Chante, Monique, Marteil and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews family and friends including Marshall, Rose, Linnie and former wife Wilhelmina.
