Milo Lambie Obituary

Milo Arthur Lambie, a beacon of joy and kindness, entered this world on March 27, 1961, in Long Island, New York. Born to Robert and Shirley Elaine Lambie, Milo's journey was one filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.

From his early days surrounded by the warmth of family in Queens and Long Island, to the bustling streets of Seattle, Atlanta, and Washington DC, Milo's zest for life was infectious. He brought his boundless energy and mischievous spirit to Cleveland High School, where he left a memorable mark as a yell leader on the cheerleading team and dedicated volunteer. Milo’s selfless attitude and care for others was exemplified when he participated as a student volunteer welcoming the incoming class of 1981 as part of a voluntary desegregation project. Fellow students commented that the well-being of the new students was a personal mission for Milo, and he took his responsibility very seriously.

After graduating from Cleveland in 1979, Milo pursued studies in Speech Pathology at Western Washington University. His dedication to his studies laid the foundation for a successful career in higher education at DeVry University, where he touched countless lives with his professionalism, strong work ethic and genuine kindness.

Beyond Milo’s professional achievements, Milo's greatest joy was found in the love and support he gave to his family and friends. Whether caring for his grandmother Ermine or supporting his brothers in their endeavors.

Milo's unconditional love knew no bounds. With Milo, you always knew where you stood. He had a refreshing honesty and directness which was appreciated by those who knew him well. Despite living across multiple cities during his life, Milo made it a point to stay in touch with his close friends via yearly birthday and holiday cards, which were a cherished reminder of his thoughtfulness.

In his leisure time, Milo found joy in travel, music, and good food. His annual Carnival cruises with colleagues and vacations with family created cherished memories against the backdrop of exotic locales, like Hawaii, Mexico, Barbados, and Jamaica.

In 2014, Milo returned to Seattle, where he found fulfillment in his work as a Patient Services Specialist at UW Medicine. His compassion and dedication touched the lives of patients and colleagues alike, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and altruism.

A man of unwavering faith, Milo was a devoted member of First AME Church (FAME), where he served tirelessly as a beacon of hope to all who knew him. In addition to working as a pastor’s steward, Milo’s belief in the importance of higher education led him to his work on the FAME Scholarship Committee, helping to support the dreams and aspirations of many young people.  His commitment to his church family and his passion for service were a testament to his faith in God and his generous spirit.

On April 4, 2024, Milo bid farewell to this earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Lynn Lambie, his brothers Chinua and Mensah Lambie, along with his sister Ocita Lambie. Milo also leaves a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will carry his spirit forward with love and pride.

As we honor the memory of Milo Arthur Lambie, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life characterized by kindness, dedication, laughter and boundless love. Milo’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Rest in peace, dear Milo, and may your journey onward be as bright and beautiful as the life you lived.
