Jerry Lee Scruggs was born December 5, 1952 in Jackson, Tennessee to Fred and Eva Bell (Esters) Scruggs, Sr. He moved on to glory August 26, 2022 in Tacoma, Washington.
As a child, Jerry attended public schools in the Jackson Madison County School District. He graduated from Northside High School in 1970. Upon graduation Jerry chose to serve his country and enlisted into the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
Upon his discharge from the Navy, Jerry returned to Jackson, and engaged in two of his passions as an auto body repair technician and as a local disc jockey where he was affectionately known as the ICEMAN.
Jerry met his wife Janice Shaw in Jackson, Tennessee later settling in Federal Way, Washington.
While Jerry's family history is deeply rooted in the service to God, Jerry accepted his call to preach the gospel in 1992.
Jerry would spend the remainder of his life in service to the Lord establishing, God's Way Ministries.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Eva Bell (Esters) Scruggs, Sr. and sister Angela Lynette Scruggs.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Janice Shaw Scruggs. Daughters: April Scruggs of Nashville, Tennessee and Mariah (Mario) Shaw-Walker of Tacoma, Washington. Sons: Jermaine (Erica) Scruggs of Jackson, Tennessee, Nick Shaw of Portland, Oregon, Carlos Shaw of Redmond, Washington and Jamal Scruggs of Federal Way, Washington. Siblings: Betty Jean (Marvin) Rogers, Carol Jeanette Scruggs, Marilyn Scruggs, and Ray Scruggs all of Jackson, Tennessee. Fred Scruggs, Jr. of Roy, Washington. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him and will miss him dearly.
