Patricia Thompson Obituary

Patricia Ann Thompson was born on August 19, 1964, and was called home to the Lord on March 6, 2026, at the age of 61. She was a longtime resident of Renton, Washington, and spent her final moments receiving care at Seattle Acute Care. Today we come together to honor and celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the lasting impact she made on all who knew and loved her.

Patricia was born to the late Robert Wade Thompson Sr. and her loving mother Margaret Day Fergus. She was the second youngest of 12 siblings. Affectionately known as Pattie, she was an energetic soul whose presence brought joy wherever she went. From a young age she admired her eldest sister, the late Madeline Sunshine Thompson, and carried that same vibrant spirit throughout her life. Pattie was widely known in Seattle’s Central District community as someone who could light up any room. She was truly the life of the party and was remembered for her warmth, charisma, and unforgettable personality.

In 1980 Patricia began an adventurous chapter of her life when she traveled to Anchorage, Alaska alongside her mother to work aboard the Motor Vessel Galaxy. There she worked in the processing room preparing king crab and salmon. After several years of hard work and new experiences she returned home and soon began building the family that would become her greatest pride and purpose.

Pattie was a loving and devoted stay at home mother who raised four children with unwavering dedication. She chose to pour her time and energy into nurturing her family and always placed their needs above her own. Although she worked a few jobs throughout the years her heart remained centered on being present for her children. Through life’s challenges and changing times she made sure they were cared for and surrounded by love.

She was known for her persistence and strong will and lived life on her own terms. Raised in a firm household where discipline and honesty were valued, she carried those same principles into adulthood. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and faced life with courage and determination.

In her leisure time Pattie enjoyed the comforts of home. She loved cooking, cleaning, and listening to music. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with laughter and connection. Friends of her children and many of her own lifelong friends often gathered there simply to share time together and enjoy her company.

During the last six years of her life Patricia showed incredible strength while facing serious health challenges including minor heart attacks, two strokes, and two brain surgeries. Despite these obstacles her resilience and radiant spirit never faded. She amazed her loved ones with her determination and strength when she began walking again. Through every trial her family stood faithfully by her side encouraging her recovery each step of the way.

Patricia began her journey as a mother nearly forty-one years ago. Leaves to cherish her memory are her beloved children Rebecca Nicole Grundy, Ramon Rogers Jr., Myeshia Thompson, and Icy Jones. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Khari Bell, Jaiden Jones, Nevaeh Bell, Gianni Jones, Jolene Thompson, Iceland Jones, Ethan, Aiden, and many others who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

She is also survived by her husband Rodney Lee, her mother Margaret Fergus, her brothers Ronny Day, Robert Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, and Steven Thompson, her sisters in law Monica Thompson and Olga Thompson, along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces Wanda Thompson, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Patricia’s life was marked by strength, love, laughter, and a presence that could never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit lives on in the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the family she loved so deeply. She will be truly missed and forever remembered.
