Robert Silva Obituary

Robert Graham Silva, age 71, a lifelong Seattle resident, passed away unexpectedly on May 26. Robert (also known as Rob or Bob to those who knew him) is the beloved youngest son of Theodore and Ruth Pauline (Kolk) Silva, who both preceded him in death.

Robert graduated from Seattle Prep and he worked as an accountant/certified public accountant/certified fraud investigator after his graduation from the UW (with degrees in Business and History).

His interests were many: he was a voracious reader; he enjoyed all types of music; and was truly a lifelong learner in a variety of fields that may have seemed eclectic and esoteric, yet they were substantive. His specialized knowledge in military and ancient history was shared with his friends at their History Club meetings held in Burien. Additionally, he was an avid aviation enthusiast and incredibly knowledgeable about a wide range of military and civilian aircraft.

Robert is survived by his brothers Jim (Magi) Silva and Douglas (Gesina) Silva; his sisters Barbara (Paul) Freeman and Mary (Donald) Whittaker; and his three nephews.

He was loyal and dedicated to his family, friends, co-workers, and clients, as well as his fiancée, Mickey, in Boston.

Memorials in Robert’s name may be made to The Museum of Flight, where he served as a volunteer docent for many years.

Robert’s tragic passing plays out as a shining example to all to live to the fullest, and to always challenge yourself to pursue knowledge, gain wisdom, and learn from life’s lessons.

A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at a later date. Please refer to this online obituary for updates regarding the details.

May Perpetual Light Shine Upon You, Dear Robert.
