Roma Sue Carrasquillo

Roma Sue Dickerson was born to Adeline Louise Dickerson and Thomas Hayward Dickerson on February 23, 1950.  Sue attended Tracyton Elementary School in 1955.  She then attended Central Kitsap Junior High in 1962.  She graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1968.

Sue would then marry Roy E Simmons Sr.  Upon their union they had Derrick Simmons Jr, Roy E Simmons, and Derrick E Simmons.  Years after they parted ways she met Raul Carrasquillo and had a beautiful daughter, Juana C Carrisquillo who was the apple of her eye!

Sue was a highly favored member of the City of Burien. She was a kind, compassionate and caring soul.  She gave directly from her heart.

She served her community by way of countless hours of volunteering with youth programs. She also taught Early Childhood Education.

Roma Sue was affectionately referred to as Mamma Sue by her family and many adopted youths as well.  Momma Sue treated every child in her presence as if they were her own.  She made everyone feel seen, valued and loved.   

Mamma Sue had a passion for cooking.  She was outstanding at it!  Her holiday meals, famous butter rolls as well as her scrumptious holiday pies were everything! She continued to prepare mouthwatering holiday meals for her family and family in love until her passing. Mamma Sue was the heartbeat of her entire family. Her children and grandchildren adored her and never skipped a beat when making sure Mamma Sue had what she needed.  She was truly loved and treasured by all.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sisters Elaine and Phyllis. 

She leaves to mourn Brothers Thomas H. Dickerson, John Ricky Dickerson, Darrell Allen Dickerson and Sister Pearl L. Campbell. Her sons Roy E. Simmons Jr., Derrick E. Simmons Sr, Darrell C. Simmons and her daughter Juana C. Carrasquillo, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family in love.
