Sandra Price Obituary

Sandra Faye Price passed away peacefully on December 19, 2020. She was 70.

Born January 29, 1950 in Columbus, Georgia, Sandra.   She graduated from Waynesville Senior High School, and married the father of her children, J. Leroy Brown (ret. Col.). After completing her degree, she worked as nurse in local hospitals and in the US Army, from which she honorably retired (Sgt.). Sandra began her own private home health business and faithfully assisted families throughout the greater Columbus area.

More than the facts of her life and her accomplishments, Sandra desired to be known by her evolution.  She was a faithful member of the Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, and donated regularly to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and local shelters.  Sandra was tenacious and loved life, collecting music and pictures of her family.  Everything grew in her hands; Sandra could look at a seed and see clearly the tree into which it would grow.  Her yard bears her expertise.

Like so many, Sandra was endearing, gifted and complicated.  Yet, on her final day, she hoped to be loved, forgiven and accepted.  Sandra sang her way home to “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by the water of Oyster Bay.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Price, her father, Louis Kelley Price, Sr.; her brother Louis, Jr.  She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly and Kelle Brown;  grandchildren, Christian Price (Marla), Anthony Boynton II, Mahogany Boynton and Indigo Brown; and great-grandchildren, Eva and Kayla Price, and Nicole Washington;  new-found Yarbough family and a host of many dear to her heart.

For her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the delight of her life, Sandra wrote:

“Your mere existence is a cause for celebration. Struggles and disappointments cannot destroy it.  Just think…In the twinkling of a moment, I was here.  In the twinkling of another, I was gone.  You are never anything less than miraculous.”

Per her final wish, Sandra did not desire a funeral or memorial service.   In lieu of flowers, please give generously to St. Jude’s Hospital “in memory”.
