Shamika Ann Sarden, was born November 18, 1991 in Seattle Washington to Kimberly R. Bell and Sorrell Sarden. She unexpectedly passed away on March 14, 2024 at 32 years old.
In her youth, Shamika attended Ingraham High School. After graduation she boldly ventured into the world where she eventually found her passion of helping to heal broken lives. She worked for Plymouth Housing Group, a leader in combating the homeless crisis, as well as, supporting housing stability. In her community driven role, Shamika was an advocate for battered women facing homelessness. She also joined the frontlines to fight against the drug addiction epidemic happening on the streets of Seattle, Washington. Shamika was passionate about her legacy and making a difference in her community. Her impact will surely be missed by the lives she encountered.
Shamika had wisdom, strength, accuracy and knew how to play “the game.” Her ability to turn pain, trauma and happiness into teachable moments, will forever leave a mark on us all. Shamika was a beloved sister, an unconditional friend, and had one of the most giving spirits in our family. She was an independent woman, who brought pure joy to those around her. Even when she struggled, she stopped to celebrate the small wins, taking pride in herself and all of her accomplishments. Loved dearly by her family and friends, Shamika was our protector. She’d raise hell and let that be known! She always held her siblings under her wing and no matter what, she made sure that they were always safe, comfortable, and had enough.
Her Spirit will live on through her Mother and Father, her brothers and sisters, Luther Walker, Mahea Sarden, Quaneka Lynn Sarden, LaTrae Sarden, Chiseko Bell, Chesiko Bell-Zarate, Quincy Bell, McKinnley Bell, Samuel Bell, Marquese Bell, Levell Turner, Imoni Turner, Anna Lekwauwa, all of her Aunts and Uncles, many Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
Waiting at Heaven’s gate were her beloved Grandmothers, whom she loved dearly and admired, Rebecca Ann Prentiss and Pastor Melba O. Thomas.
We will forever miss you. We won’t forget the impact you made on this earth. We love you always, now rest. In our hearts…forever sister, forever daughter, and forever our friend.
Rest in grace our beautiful Shamika Ann Sarden.
