William "Billy” Clarke, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 15,2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and love. Born in Brooklyn, New York, William was the cherished son of Lenore Mitchell and Louis Solomon. William was raised by Lennie Mitchell. William passed away five days before his mother, Lenore Mitchell.
William re-located to Seattle in 2018 to marry his “Queen,” Elizabeth Jane Anderson. They were inseparable.
A hardworking man, William spent many years serving as a security guard at several locations, always taking pride in protecting others and doing his job with dedication.
Outside of work, William’s passions brought joy to everyone around him. He was an avid handball player, earning trophies that reflected both his skill and his competitive spirit. He also loved playing quarterback during family and neighborhood football games, where his energy and enthusiasm made every moment unforgettable. Billy was an awesome puck player; big waves, spades and all sorts of games he loved to play. I loved spending time with him when we could. He will truly be missed.
Another passion was William’s love of music spanning from the 1940’s all the way up to the present, you could find him at the Esquire Club every first Friday for” Old School Night.” It was his favorite place to go. William was a radio host for several stations throughout the state of New York..
William will be remembered for his warm heart, his sense of humor, and the love he showed to his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories, memories, and love he leaves behind.
William was preceded in death by his sister Jacqueline. William is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Anderson-Clarke, and their four children: Lavar, Adina, Monty, and Sheda; brother Dennis (Blacque), stepfather Lennie Mitchell. He also leaves behind three nieces, four nephews, and a growing generation of grandnieces and nephews who adored him.
Thank you, my “King” for 7 1/2 years of marriage. I love you, I'll see you on the other side.
Love, your “Queen,” Elizabeth
